Título - "Does feedback to business-plans impact new ventures? Evidence from a field experiment"

Abstract - There is an unsettled debate on the value of planning for startups. We remark that planning helps new ventures get feedback. This feedback to business plans may improve performance, although it may also discourage entrepreneurship. To estimate a causal effect, this paper presents the first field experiment that directly tests the effect of written feedback on the subsequent survival of new ventures. Out of 88 high-stakes entrepreneurial teams, half randomly received written feedback and half did not. Afterwards both groups participated in a global incubator program and received $40,000. Results show that treated entrepreneurs obtained $100,000 of additional venture capital funding (25%) and were 60% more likely to obtain private equity. Also, they were 50% more likely to displays proxies of survival. Serious feedback, taken seriously, could impact new businesses
