Abstract: We randomly assigned manufacturing firms in Brazil to receive either a standard inspection visit or an online training followed by an inspection visit 6 months later.  We compare these to the control group and find that accidents fell in both treatments but more strongly and consistently for the training arm.  We show that there seems to have been response of firms in terms of prevention actions that can explain the results.  Impacts are relatively long-lasting being observed up to about 15 months after the intervention. We document interesting heterogeneity in the impact of the program.
