Este viernes 14 de agosto se llevará a cabo la onceava sesión del seminario interno de FEN donde se exponen trabajos en progreso de académicos y avances de tesis de estudiantes.
En esta ocasión, el profesor José Merigó presentará "Bibliometric studies in business and management research", trabajo cuyo resumen se encuentra más abajo.
El seminario se llevará a cabo a las 13:00 hrs en la sala 1605 de la torre. Se solicita confirmar asistencia con Pamela Fuentes al correo pamela.fuentes@econ.uchile.cl a más tardar el día jueves 13 de Agosto a las 13:00 horas, ya que el seminario contempla almuerzo.

Título - Bibliometric studies in business and management research

Abstract - Bibliometrics is a research field that studies quantitatively the bibliographic material. It provides a wide range of techniques for representing and classifying the information of a research area. This study analyzes some key indicators regarding the most influential research carried out in business and management over the last decades. An analysis of the most influential journals and a list with the most cited papers of all time is presented. For each of the selected journals, an individual focus is given with the most productive institutions and countries. The results are in accordance with the common knowledge where the USA and other English speaking countries are clearly leading the field. However, some important deviations are found due to the nature of some specific research topics that may provide a ranking different from the initial expectations. Finally, it is worth noting that the results of this paper aims to be informative regarding the most influential research being developed in business and management. The objective is to give a general overview of the current trends in this discipline.
